Five Eyes group consists of United States, Great Britain, Canada, Australia & New Zealand. Its history dates back to post World War 2 and was started as an informal alliance that shared intelligence as a means of countering Soviet Union cold war activities.
The Five Eyes has club has several unofficial members that share information as needed. Unofficial members include but are not limited to; France, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Japan, Italy and Spain.
With China’s economic influence & power, coupled with prolific espionage activities world wide, Five Eyes and its unofficial members are focusing efforts on countering China’s foreign agenda. Five Eyes intelligence sharing will likely require surge capacity resources with efforts on two fronts, Russia & China.
